they have a new one out that doesn’t break and to this day only 4 have ever had issues, you have to make sure you get the right one though and its the same price so it can be tricky.

Only half? I’ve got 3 in my house. 1 was repaired and then something else broke which they wouldn’t fix (it works, kinda). 1 was repaired (lightening strike). 1 hasn’t broke yet (had it less than a year) cheap arcade that we used while number 2 was being repaired.

Wow. That’s an amazingly terrible statistic. I’ve known many friend who’ve had problems with thier Xbox 360′s, but I had no idea that over half of them break, hah. In light of that, and how (in my opinion) the Microsoft Xbox 360 games library just doesn’t stack up to PS3 (although much more complete and varied than Wii), I don’t see how anyone would buy a 360 nowadays. I think the choice is clear, get a Wii if you’re looking for a party-type atmosphere, and get a PS3 if you’re looking for serious gaming. Anyone disagree?

I sure hope you’re not jinxing it, that would really suck – at least wait till they release a brand new Xbox or something, you could upgrade to instead

I’d have to say I’m lucky in this respect. I’ve got an Xbox 360 and have not had any trouble out of it. (Although by typing this I may be jinxing myself! ) Granted I only play it a few times a week and not that long at that. But, I will say, my nephews have one as well and have been plagued with various troubles.. Intermittent DVD drive, network port etc…

The research we did on these before we got it should all those problems then but the number of games available and the online experience you get through Xbox Live make it worth a little trouble I think… maybe?

I have all 3, and rarely use any of them because I far and away prefer the PC as my gaming platform of choice. Of the 3, though, I use XBox 360 the most, because the Wii is something I only pull out as something social when friends are over, and it is only recently that the PS3 started getting enough decent games to make it worthwhile. Sony really started out in a hole with the debacle that was the first year or so, and has been digging out ever since. I do use the PS3 as a Blu-ray player, though.
