Have You Gone Google, yet?

Despite being one of the most known companies in the world, Google just launched an ad campaign with 4 massive billboards along freeways around San Francisco, Boston, Chicago and New York.

The ad claims that 1.75 million companies already made the switch to Google Apps which allows them to avoid software upgrade costs and other “frustrations” by maintaining a conventional IT solution.

To be honest, I’ve personally never really tried Google Apps. I don’t have the need for an “online office suite”, I’m perfectly happy with iWork from Apple which works great on my Mac.

Have you gone Google yet or are you planning it? Do you think Google Apps is a better solution than Microsoft Office for most users or SMBs?

  1. I have heard a lot about it, but just never had the umph to go check out Google Apps, not sure if its free for single user license and being able to use applications in offline mode is key.

  2. I’ve tried it a little here and there. I bought a few of my domains through “Google Apps for your domain” because the domain is just $10 including the privacy – and of course it comes ready to go with Google apps (free for individuals), Gmail @yourdomain.com, and Google Sites. Google Apps is OK – and of course it plays well with Gmail. For my home PCs though I use OpenOffice – works great and can’t beat the price. 😉

  4. I like yourself have not tried Googel Apps all though the new advertising might get me to stop using a few of the office tools I use now, I use a Mac meanwhile everyone in my office uses a PC. It can be a hassle sometimes with contracts and other documents, especially since I am still learning my Mac.

  5. I have used some Google App in the Education field before for a company I used to work at! there is a few application worth working on them but probably for companies, not for individuals like us (bloggers), because what is the use of using an application but you really don’t have biz or community to make use of it!

And this is why you will find people who are interested in these Applications in the biz and education fields only mostly!
