June 2010: Blog Summary & Income Report

12 months. One year. That’s how old TechPatio.com is right about now. It doesn’t feel like one full year just went by, but nevertheless, that’s what the calendar says. I will write more about that in another blog post, in the near future.

But now it’s about last month, June, and how TechPatio did when looking at the visitor stats and income.

Here are the numbers from the past few months, including June:

Conclusion: June ’10

Not much to say, really. The numbers are pretty much the same as last month. Income is slightly higher due to a small increase in Google AdSense and Sponsored Reviews appeared with a few reviews as well.

Again I didn’t focus my attention on anything particular, I just went along with it, blogging about what I had on my mind and I thought was interesting and took the money-making offers that came my way, without me having to go doing too much seeking for them.

I’m still not getting as my clicks on my Google AdSense ads as I was counting on, especially the ads that I place somewhere in the posts (like the one at the bottom of this one, before the “sharing” bar). Hopefully this month will be better.

  1. Hi Klaus,

You’re doing a great job. Thanks for sharing the info because it gives me something to think about. I’ve never done any sponsored reviews but it’s something I need to look into. What do you think about your bounce rate? Is it something that you are working to bring down? I’d say don’t worry about it as long as you’re earnings are ok.

    • Hi Ileane, I don’t care too much about my bounce rate 🙂 Most of my traffic is search engine traffic that comes here searching for something I apparently provide since they find me on search engines. If I depended more on direct traffic or having the same readers, then my bounce rate was probably too high 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Good job indeed!
Is Sponsored Reviews really good to help us make money by blogging? I have never tried it. But according to your introduction, I will try it later. Thanks!

    • Yup I’m satisfied with Sponsored Reviews. Payments are rather quick and easy too, you don’t have to earn a really high amount before you get your money, which is good for many smaller blogs. There are lots of opps in there, but I usually only do the ones where advertisers specifically asks me to do a review (they pay more).

  4. Congrats on a great year! I think the direct ad sales item is encouraging. $10 today – who knows how much a year from now!

    • Thanks cb. I’m not sure “direct ad sales” is the right term though, since it’s income from people using my contact form to get in touch and buy stuff. But I think it’s good, considering I don’t even have a dedicated “advertise”-page yet.

  5. Not bad not bad. It’s about $77.06 higher than the one I just relaunched. I’m focusing on posts that will be found in search engines this month. We’ll see how that goes.

  7. Interesting post, the 1st real look at actual numbers I’ve come across.

Thanks for the insight, obviously a lot of work for minimal gain early on.
    Good look going forward…

    All the Best

  9. Can I take a liberty and ask what has happened to see your income drop so much since March?

Is it a case of having other things in your life to do that are taking you away from earning money?

    I earnt $106 during June. 🙂

    • Hi Dean. I focused mostly on making money in March so I called that month for “Money March”. The months after that was back to usual business but without focusing too much on making money. I only took what offers came to me instead of go seeking them out.

      Nice earning, $106, congrats 🙂
