HTC One Specifications & Impressions

htc-one-mobile-phone-large-3HTC’s latest flagship entrant is stamped with a seal of perfection, metaphorically speaking. Its brimming with top of the line features and has that all rounded appeal.

HTC has garnered unending appreciation in recent times, for its devices that truly give you what the Taiwanese company promises. HTC has a lot of repute which the Company works hard to keep unblemished, and unblemished it remains after the launch of the One. This Qualcomm processor running speedy device has all the works inside and out.

Let’s Face Facts

The device looks decidedly HTC bearing some of the hallmark cuts and grooves. Its sleek for being thin, easy to handle as a result of being flat and looks premium because of its beautiful rectangular body.

Swiping, chatting and browsing are easy with just one hand due to its clever crafting apart from the fact that the device size makes this easy.

Up front, the phone has a 4.7-inch 1080p resolution LCD display made from HTC birthed SoLux technology which gives better quality of picture and improves the pixel density to 468 ppi.

We put this screen through every test possible, and we just loved what it gave us. The images are pristine and vivid, full of vivacity and life. The scaling down of the size of the screen is a mature move that increases its quality rather than giving us quantum in terms of a large screen, devoid of refinement. The phone is easy to read, there is minimum glare and sufficient brightness, and you won’t need to clasp the phone with another hand to shade its screen from the sun’s glare.

htc-one-mobile-phone-large-6The body being totally metallic, sort of takes the user to that subconscious feeling that you’re using some futuristic device. Another goody is that your phone won’t heat up even when it sunbathes, while say, sitting atop the dashboard of your car.

The body, as per assertions by HTC has nil gap unibody design. Proud to be an all metallic this device ships in in only black and silver, making no excuses for not joining the Colorful Handsets Club presided by Nokia Lumia, and others.

HTC took that age old understood fact that audio output from two sides versus one is always better, and put in dual speakers flanking either side of the glorious screen, that truly take the listening experience to a whole different level. This clever tryst doesn’t end here, the amplifier and Beats technology make this HTC nail the audio requirement, save the sans cool sounding name it’s given all this; BoomSound.

Face Lift

htc-one-mobile-phone-large-51.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor. We left that statement free from adjectives because it speaks for itself. This device comes built with Qualcomm’s newest piece and powers the phone to perform smoothly, at high speeds without flaw.

The HTC One comes in two variants, so you can afford the 32GB or get the 64GB device. Either way you’ll get 2GB of RAM.

To power up this power house is a 2,300mAh battery which, sounds oh so resourceful, but slackens a bit when put to the test. Power hungry processes eat into the device’s battery, but still you get a good 9 hours and 37 minutes.

Soft Touches

The [tp lang=”en” only=”y”]HTC One[/tp][tp not_in=”en”]HTC One[/tp] has the Android Jelly Bean OS which works in unison with HTC’s Sense UI. With this latest version of HTC’s own Sense, you have added benefits which are partly fun, partly useful, we won’t rave though.

Apps run smoothly thanks to that ultra-fast processor and this does full justification to the Android OS. Android users’ expectations won’t be let down.

The HTC one also has an IR blaster at the top of its device. This along with HTC Sense TV app and HTC remote software, let’s you have the reigns to control your TV using the phone. Further you can check programs and listings of your favorite movies, shows and sports events.

Camera Charisma

Onto the camera now, the HTC One is a reflection on the Company’s keenness to keep the clicking options and facilities abundant and efficient. The specification sheet may not evoke much appreciation, but that is misleading.

This device has the updated ImageSense system, new ImageChip 2 hardware, plus an improvised light sensor. This camera dubbed the Ultrapixel Sensor is perfected to give you images with details and good color reproduction, even though it is only 4 megapixels. Trust us when we say, the pixel count is not a determinant of camera power. With a bigger sensor the camera really does do a nice job.

The shutter speed is high, the camera responds pronto. With a renewed sensor this device absorbs a fair amount of light, more than the other HTC devices the company says, which lean in favor of better image quality. When we got our hands on the device and were able to snap a few we weren’t too amazed however. HTC has possibly hyped this feature in excess of the real story. Nevertheless, the camera comes complete with other noteworthy features. Image Stabalization feature kicks in to improve image quality.

Zoe, coined by HTC is descriptive of the 3 second video features of the camera. Something to just capture those brief moments of fun, humor or crazy to share with your friends.

Another cool camera feature is the auto feature which puts together clips and videos from Highlight reels.

The Judgment

This device leaves us no room for complaints. There’s nothing like a thin and slender device, which has the materials to back its looks, and the inner works which support outward impressions. The software is interesting and brings in a few nice features. The camera is the kind that gives quietus to criticism of its probabilities. The company has gone lengths to perfect this phone in every aspect and has done the distance with this one.

Zoe videos are a nice touch to the phone and Highlight movies are simply useful. The device lets you browse and run apps without feeling the processors hard work. Hence, the HTC One is definitely worth its flagship title.

  1. HTC was always a good and reliable thing. I can’t understand the modern society who is running after super cool brands only without paying attention on an obviously good gadget like HTC.

  2. Wow! It looks pretty cool, I think now it’s time to switch from my iPhone to this one. The new HTC has won all the tests and competitions of today’s times…

  3. The UltraPixel camera appears to be a case of double bluff. While high megapixels don’t necessarily equal quality, it seems that low megapixel counts don’t either. Image detail is disappointing to be honest. The camera seems to be over-hyped.

  12. I’m really pulling for the ‘One’ to meet and exceed everyone’s expectations. HTC was in danger of slipping into irrelevance IMO (in the opinion of others, they might already be there). Either way, I think it’s a good thing for consumers when there are challengers to the Apple iPhone/Samsung Galaxy duopoly.
