How to Choose the best Web Host for your Website

We live in an era, where everything in online. In fact the speed at which the internet has evolved in the past couple of years it just remarkable. It has led to a boost in the number of websites, and blogs, and many internet marketers, and online entrepreneurs. Of course they are people that can belong from different locations, different trades, different markets, but one thing that is common for them, and they share is about being online.

And to have an impact, you need to have your own address, your very own website. And every dummy over the internet, does know what all it take to build a website and have it online so that other or their potential customers see them. And the most important aspect of that, is going for a good web host, or web hosting service. And here is where majority of the people, do the wrong things. They often face issues and problems, when choosing the web hosting service, so in this post we will discuss that how you could find the best website host for your website, may it be a blog, a portfolio or anything.

Calculate your Requirements:

For a start you need to make a list of features, and requirements. Most people would find it as an obvious thing to do, but trust me not making a proper requirements list that you want can have a great impact. Imagine when you go out to a market not knowing what you want to buy, you would definitely end up buying things that you don’t need, as the marketing strategies of the companies are too good, and anyone could fall for them. So rather than going for the gloomy offers, and hardcore and cool features they offer, anyone can fall, and end up paying for things they wouldn’t even need. Analyze your traffic, and if you don’t have too much of traffic, don’t fall in the trap of unlimited traffic, and bandwidth, as you are never going to exhaust it, unless you have a vast amount of traffic. Settle for a lesser plan, and leave the upgrade due to future. So to sum up this part, think of the features and the plans you would use and require, and just go for them rather than going blazing in for big plans.

Tech Support and Platforms:

tech-platforms

These days there are so many platforms on which you could be running your website on. For example it could be wordpress, drupal, joomla, phpbb ( in case of a forum), and many more. So this step pretty much involves analyzing whether the web host you are checking out has a proper support for your platform. For example, there are so many managed wordpress hostings out there, that perform excellent for wordpress users but they aren’t really charming for other platforms. So likewise, you need to check whether they have proper tools and plugins and support for your platform. A good way to do it, by contacting them directly, or asking for a trial period on their hosting packages, or also reading long and detailed reviews about the respective web hosting services.

Customer Support:

Believe it or not, you will face an issue with your website, and hosting someday or the other. This is the truth about the online industry. Even sometimes Google and Facebook, have faced server side issues, so what makes you think you won’t? But the better way to ensure smooth sailing is that there will be someone to help you out. Of Course every hosting company would claim that they have an excellent customer support, live chat etc etc. But the bottom line is only a handful of those are true in their promises.

So make sure that whether the hosting company or service you are going for has a good customer support, respond quickly and don’t waste your time with sweet words, but on the other hand provide with solid solutions and are result oriented. Again to ensure this, reviews would help you out. There are many forums and online communities, on which you could go and search for the reviews and what people think about the particular hosting company.

Pricing and Plans:

Whenever you will go to buy a web hosting service, make sure that they have proper plans and pricing. At first they might seem to provide too much of services at low prices, but do keep in mind and also search for the recursion charges that they offer. As 90% of the web hosting companies suffer a loss in the initial year when a user buys their hosting, and they cover it up with the recursive charges, or renewal charges that they would ask for.

So unless you are not willing to migrate all your website, and avoid a mess you hould look into this aspect as well. And again to mentioned, while seeing and deciding a plan don’t fall for the unlimited disk, bandwidth, email trap. You won’t need it, unless you get millions of PVs.

So this was a short post, that would help you out if you are looking forward to buy a web hosting package or opt for a web hosting service. Happy Shopping.

  2. I think to know the best web host for your site is based on preferences especially when it comes to speed and loading times, etc. It is also about affordability but if your site makes money then there you go as a way to pay it off.
