This, depending on who you are, can provide many challenges for a wide range of individuals, groups, and business. As one would imagine, the effects that one would experience from such a strong form of cannabis can have its own effects on home, and work life. As caring family members, employers, and caretakers, it can be beneficial for some of us to know just when someone around us in under the influence, or is a user of marijuana. Today, we will be discussing just what happens when someone is under the influence of cannabis, as well as some of the signs of general usage, even if they are not currently under the influence. Why you might want to know:

So at this point you might be wondering, “Why on earth would I even want to know?” Well, this is of course going to depend greatly on you, and what your personal, and or professional needs, and position entail. As cannabis becomes legal around the world in various nations, either medically or recreationally, certain problems arise. Many employers wish to know if prospective employees are consuming cannabis, or other drugs. Family members might want to have an idea of what their loved ones are doing so that they can help manage whatever may be going on. Sometimes, in the work field there may be an employee that is acting oddly, or behaving in a way that draws attention, and you may wonder, are they “high”. So then what is one to do? Well, what happens in the end is of course your decision; but there are certain tell-tale signs that will give the typical stoner away. While many people use cannabis for medical purposes, it is still illegal in many areas, and often employers have the right to terminate employment based upon such things. Of course all of this depends on local laws and regulations, but sometimes it can just be good to know. So let’s go over just exactly what these signs and symptoms are!

What to look out for:

What to look out for: So, now that we have gone over some of the reasons why you might want to be aware of someone either using, or under the influence of cannabis, it’s time to finally go over just exactly what you need to be looking for! Typically there are some signs that are very common, and stereotypical, and we will go over those as well as the more difficult ones. While of course it is important to remember that all individuals can display, or even not display certain signs and symptoms, especially depending on their tolerance, there are general signs you can look for:

Signs of Cannabis Use:

  • One of the most common signs of course, at least for those currently. under the influence, is red, dry, and puffy eyes. Often, those who are high and do not wish people to know, will go out of the way to wear sunglasses, even indoors, or stay in dark areas etc. attempting to disguise their eyes.
  • Signs of paranoia by the individual can also be taken as a gin and symptom of someone currently being under the influence, or with chronic use.
  • Of course, the smell of the individual can be very clear, if they have a Smokey, or obviously a marijuana smell, it should be pretty apparent.
  • The way in which their mouth moves, and the salivation they produce can be a good indicator of intoxication.
  • Disorganized speech and movement can be a good indicator as well, someone who is high will not act normally.
  • Confusion, many people who are chronic users, or who are currently under the influence with exhibit signs of cannabis use.
  • Increased appetite.
  • Lack, and or loss of focus. Lack of motivation, and a decrease in physical activity.

While this is but a short list of signs and symptoms, and there are of course others, many of which vary between individuals, this is a good guide to determine whether someone is high, or a cannabis use in general. Of course, one must always be careful, and considerate because judging off of just what we may think, is not always the best course of action. But by looking for these signs and symptoms, there is a pretty good chance. While many people may use cannabis medically, and with dispensaries popping up all over the place, cannabis is becoming more common and available all over, even our pets are starting to take cannabis products!

Conclusions:

In today’s world, cannabis is becoming more and more common, the effects have been studied, and varying opinions have been formed. While it may not be clear exactly which side of the line is correct, it is still the right of employers, and family members to know what is going on with the people around them. Getting cannabis is easier than ever, and soon it will be legal on a federal level on many of the world’s largest nations, such as Canada, and others, who knows what the legal status of cannabis will be around the world in only a few short years. However, there are signs and symptoms that can easily be discerned and picked out to see whether someone is under the influence of cannabis, or is a general users. What one might do with that information is of course entirely up to them, but hopefully with this guide and this information, you will be better armed to understand what is going on, and when.

  1. Very informative article!
It should also be noted that cannabis affects every person differently.
While it’s easy to spot in some, it’s not so easy with other people.

  3. Getting a lot of information and learning the pros and cons of the product is a must. It depends on the person on how he or she will handle that thing. As for taking cannabis, it is a risk if you don’t have any background about it and you’ll overdose it.

  4. This is so true. People tend to be very closeminded or stereotypes about someone who is a cannabis user. We all have problems and we deal with it differently. Good to know new information from this blog. Thank you very much.
