Friday Flick Find: Microsoft App Lab & Apple On Windows 7’s Broken Promises

I think it’s safe to say that we’re in a “Microsoft week” this week, with the release of Windows 7 and the Windows 7 Whopper, Bing getting Twitter and Facebook search indexing access and probably a whole lot more that I didn’t pay attention to since I’m more to the other side of the force (that’ll be the Apple side).

Nevertheless, I decided that in today’s Friday Flick Find we should have two Microsoft related videos. Both of them are (somewhat) funny and comes from both sides of the force.

Get A Mac

I might as well get the propaganda out of the way first. One of the newest Get a Mac ads from Apple that deals with the broken promises from Microsoft over the years. I admit, you probably need to be a little more than an average Apple user to find this one funny per se – but just watch it… and go get a Mac when you’re done 🙂

Microsoft App Lab

Next up is a video from Microsoft on how their designers develop applications for Windows Mobile devices. They showcase a few of the apps they’ve developed so far… or something…

Enjoy the weekend, everybody!

  1. Hey Klaus.. Can’t wait to try out Windows 7.. Hopefully it doesn’t suck as much as Vista did. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Great find with the Apple commercial, I hadn’t seen that before!

BTW – Can you get a plugin called, “Full Text Feed”? It basically displays full posts for RSS Subscribers.. I find it annoying to click through to the site in order to read the entire article. 🙂

    • I checked out that Full Text Feed plugin, but it’s webpage says:
“Great news! As of WordPress 2.5, Full Text Feed is no longer needed. I recommend disabling Full Text Feed on all WordPress 2.5 installations.”

The reason I’m not offering full text feeds is because of the theme I’m using. The thumbnails on the frontpage is auto generated based on a “post image” I set up, but I don’t want to use that post image inside my posts, but it still appears in the RSS feed, meaning it will show both the “post image” and the image in the upper right corner that I usually add. The result will be two similar images, most of the time. Doesn’t look good. By offering only summary, I make sure no images are included.

But if you know how I can edit the file that generates the feed so I can remove images directly in the code, I wouldn’t mind offering full text feeds 🙂
