Dots Gloves D200 – Great Gloves For Outside Use

dots_gloves_d200_iphone_thumbI’ve been writing about the Dots Gloves D200 three times before, last time was December 4th where I gave a quick review of the Dots Gloves D200. I concluded that, for me, it’s easier to control the iPhone using my nose than using these gloves.

When it comes to using them as ordinary gloves, however, they do a really good job. I’ve been using them outside a few times in Scandinavia where the temperature currently is below 0 degrees celsius, even down to -10 degrees once. Even though the gloves are not thick, they still managed to keep my hands comfortable without freezing.

They also very easily brush off snow, so it doesn’t get stuck in the gloves. Just don’t keep them in the snow for too long, as the “dots” intended to create contact between the iPhone and your finger are not completely waterproof.

Overall I’m very happy with the gloves and had they just been better at controlling the iPhone as well, they would be a perfect product.

Here’s a picture of a place I passed last week. I shot it with my new Nikon D5000. It’s actually three pictures combined into a single picture to get better exposure over the entire range (ground, trees, skies):

  1. Hahah! Even without the gloves, it’s so hard to do anything on an iPhone!

Nice photo by the way! Really makes me want to get a DSLR 🙁

    • Serge, did you READ the entire post? If you did, I don’t think you understand what the Dots Gloves are about 🙂 Normal gloves don’t allow you to USE the iPhone (or any other touchscreen device with a capacitive screen) – except for the Dots Gloves.

  4. I’ve read the post and i gotta tell you i found myself using my tongue to accept my incoming calls on my i phone when i was using the regular gloves up in Vermont when i was skiing but the gloves just not for everyone. Over here in NY doesn’t get cold enough for me to use them, maybe up in Canada people can get some use out of it. The product is just not for me. I see how Dots Gloves D200 can come to use, you don’t have to take the gloves off to use the phone.
