Apple unveils new MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max

The new MacBook Pro has 6x faster performance and the longest battery life ever in a Mac.

Apple on Tuesday unveiled the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, boosted by M2 Pro and M2 Max, two of Apple’s next-generation pro silicon that brings more power-efficient performance and longer battery life to pro users.

The world’s most powerful and efficient chip for a pro laptop, the M2 Pro and M2 Max feature a powerful CPU and GPU, up to 96GB of unified memory, and industry-grade power efficiency. These two chips enable the MacBook Pro to tackle demanding tasks such as effects rendering that is up to 6x faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro, and color grading which is 2x faster.

Thanks to the power efficiency of Apple silicon, the MacBook Pro’s battery life can reach up to 22 hours, the longest battery life ever in a Mac.

The new MacBook Pro supports WiFi 6E for enhanced connectivity, which is twice as fast as the previous generation. It can also support 8K displays for the very first time, thanks to its advanced HDMI.

With up to 96GB of unified memory in the M2 Max version, creators can work on scenes so large that PC laptops can’t even run them.

Overall, the unrivaled features of MacBook Pro include: Liquid Retina XDR display, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, six-speaker sound system, studio-quality mics, and an extensive array of connectivity. Combined with macOS Ventura, the MacBook Pro delivers even more performance and productivity.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said:

“MacBook Pro with Apple silicon has been a game changer, empowering pros to push the limits of their workflows while on the go and do things they never thought possible on a laptop. Today the MacBook Pro gets even better. With faster performance, enhanced connectivity, and the longest battery life ever in a Mac, along with the best display in a laptop, there’s simply nothing else like it.”
