Apple managed to set an impressive new record – the tech company has more than 2 billion active devices all over the world, including iPads, iPhones and Macs.
On the first week of February, Apple announced a new achievement in its earnings report for the first fiscal quarter in 2023 that ended December 31, 2022, and that is, the tech giant currently has more than 2 billion active devices worldwide! This staggering figure includes iPads, iPhones, Macs, watches as well as other Apple devices, and it has become a major milestone for the company, an evident proof of its continued success and growth.
Apple CEO Tim Cook was elated, saying:
“As we all continue to navigate a challenging environment, we are proud to have our best lineup of products and services ever, and as always, we remain focused on the long term and are leading with our values in everything we do.
During the December quarter, we achieved a major milestone and are excited to report that we now have more than 2 billion active devices as part of our growing installed base.”
The last time Apple shared its active user base was back in January 2022, when the company said they had 1.8 billion active devices globally, thus making this latest milestone very impressive.
While Apple did not reveal the exact numbers per specific device, what’s known is that there are more than a billion active iPhones worldwide.
Apple posted their quarterly revenue of $117.2 billion, down 5% year-over-year, and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.88.
Apple CFO Luca Maestri said:
“We set an all-time revenue record of $20.8 billion in our Services business, and in spite of a difficult macroeconomic environment and significant supply constraints, we grew total company revenue on a constant currency basis.
We generated $34 billion in operating cash flow and returned over $25 billion to shareholders during the quarter while continuing to invest in our long-term growth plans.”
