iPhone 4G: 24 Million Units To Ship In 2010

Foxconn will manufacture 24 million iPhone 4G’s during 2010, says Ming-Chi Kuo, a senior analyst with Digitimes. Foxconn is the company that actually makes the iPhones for Apple and according to Ming-Chi Kuo, they will make 4.5 million of the new generation iPhone during the first half of 2010 (which ends soon) and another 19.5 million units during the second half of 2010.

The iPhone screen is expected to come from LG and Prime View International and will be around the same size as the current iPhone, but with four times higher resolution (960×640 pixels). It will also have IPS (in-plane switching) technology, like the iPad does, and FFS (fringe-field switching) technology. IPS and FFS makes it possible to have better angles of view.

Ming Chi Kuo also claims that iPhone 4G will have 512MB of built-in memory (not for storage, but for processes etc), allowing the iPhone to compete with Android phones when it comes to multitasking.
