To celebrate the 2023 Japanese New Year, Apple is giving away a limited-edition AirTag with an adorably-designed rabbit emoji, as part of a two-day promotion in Japan.
Customers in Japan who purchase an eligible Apple product on January 2 (Monday) and January 3 (Tuesday) can qualify for a free Apple gift card worth up to ¥32,000.
If you buy an iPhone SE, Apple Watch SE or iPad Air, you will receive a gift card worth ¥8,000.
There’s also a gift card available on more affordable items such as the Apple Pencil second generation, which is worth ¥4,000.
Apple products that award high-value gift cards include the 24-inch iMac, which could get you ¥24,000. Meanwhile, purchasing either the 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pro models could get you a cool ¥32,000 gift card as a bonus.
Meanwhile, aside from an ¥8,000 gift card, the first 30,000 customers in Japan who buys a new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 or iPhone SE from Apple during the promotion period shall receive a limited-edition AirTag engraved with a cute bunny, to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit in 2023.
In the full terms and conditions of this promotion, the tech giant says that those who place their iPhone orders via the Apple Store app are not qualified for a limited-edition AirTag, so be sure to make the purchase on Apple’s website. The promotion will also be available at the Apple retail stores in Japan.
According to the Japanese calendar, 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit. The special-edition AirTag shows an engraved rabbit emoji, with one eye winking back at you.
Last year Apple also released a special edition AirTag to celebrate the Japanese New Year, with a tiger emoji engraving for the Year of the Tiger.
