Today the world has turned tech-savvy with new software and technology hitting the market by the drop of a minute. There’s software for each and every task that humans wish to accomplish. This is the reason why a single software can’t cover each and every process present in the world. Even though there are attempts to come up with all-in-one apps, something seems to be left out. This can be corrected with another technological concept known as software integration.
The process of combining subroutines, modules, and full programs of one software with another software to develop an all-new software or refine the functioning of an existing one is called software integration. In general, it means working with two apps in a single application for advanced operations and power-packed performance. Hence it is also known as application integration.
This was the crux of software integration. Now let’s have a look at the benefits it offers!
Ease in decision making
Are you confused about which software to go for? Or like two software programs and can’t let any of them be canceled? Don’t worry you can integrate both the software. Get the best of two just by downloading one and changing the source code of the other, so they can work well for you.
Great productivity
When you integrate two software that uses the same data sources, it will without a doubt improve your business operations. There’s a requirement to enter data only once between the two. It will also save time as you will not need to switch back and forth between multiple applications to get work done.
Data reliability
This is one benefit that works on risk reduction. As discussed in the point above, when you integrate apps, you need to enter data only once. This helps you get rid of the threats of entering incorrect data. Integration helps apps work uniformly with a single point of view for data usage.
Enhanced analysis
There’s more to know than what your data shows with a single application. This is possible with software integration. You can get comprehensive insights and suggestions from a whole new perspective when there’s crawling on specific data from two different apps.
Improved security
We know it’s easier to handle a single application instead of peeking through multiple software in a short time. With software integration, it’s all in one app so you can check the all-around security of your data from there itself and no other place. This simplifies management, administration, and backup of tasks too!
Great customer servicing
When you integrate a CTI and CRM it will work wonders on the customer service front. You will be able to interact and assist customers through business operations more effectively than working with two applications at that one time. You can access customer information quicker and make relations better.
Integration has surely become a way of life for a businessman today. It helps him master more than just one output. Today we shall talk about the integration of two giant software companies of our time, HubSpot and Shopify!
Let’s get to know a bit about the two!
What is HubSpot?
HubSpot is a cutting-edge content optimization system. It is ideal for marketers from businesses of all scales. It focuses on creating worthwhile customer experiences following the inbound marketing methodologies. HubSpot takes care of almost every business operation right from web development, marketing, sales, customer servicing, onboarding training, and much more. It aims at attracting audiences to convert them to leads and then to loyal clients that too, organically!
Now here’s a brief of Shopify!
Shopify is a SaaS cloud-based platform that enables you to lay out an online store and even personally with its POS. There are over a million users and customers across the world. Today it has become the most loved E-commerce software available, suited to all types and scales of business. It provides a monthly subscription format, offering a wide range of plans and features that you can select from. What more? It has a handsome amount of plug-ins and integrations so that you can take your online store’s performance to an all-new level.
Interested in knowing how the two will work together?
Let’s go!
It is no child’s play to integrate two software and especially if both are of a different nature. Here, HubSpot is a COS, and Shopify is an e-commerce development software. You can get the best of your integration only if the process is done systematically, or else it will slow down processes.
Here’s a process of HubSpot and Shopify integration!
First off you need to install HubSpot.
Create a HubSpot account.
Now click on the marketplace icon on the navigation bar and select app marketplace.
Type in Shopify integration in the search bar.
Install Shopify from the upper right of your screen.
Enter your Shopify store URL in the dialog box and click connect to Shopify.
After this a pop-up window will emerge on the screen, just put in your Shopify credentials and log in.
Once you are logged in, you will be redirected to HubSpot and you will witness that Shopify is connected. The HubSpot tracking code is added automatically to all your Shopify store pages. You can check import progress from Shopify and modify sync settings by clicking on go to e-commerce settings.
You can also connect to other Shopify stores by clicking on the store name and selecting +connect other stores.
Let’s customize the sync settings now!
Click on the marketplace icon on your HubSpot portal and select connected apps under ‘Manage’.
Then select E-commerce
Select one from One-way or two-way sync!
The one-way sync will be enabled by default. Here all your Shopify data will be synced with HubSpot, but HubSpot data won’t be shared with Shopify.
You can select two-way sync from the data sync section of your e-commerce settings. Click on turn on in the dialog box and enter Shopify credentials. This will sync all the contact properties of both apps.
The integration is done.
How will you analyze the Shopify data from this integration? We’ll look into it now!
You can analyze your Shopify data only when you have a view of it. To have a look at your Shopify products, orders, and customers…
First off click on settings in your HubSpot portal in the main navigation bar.
Now go to integrations and click on E-commerce in the left menu.
The total number of customers, products, and orders will appear in the report at the top.
All your Shopify products will appear in your HubSpot product library with all the details of the product. If you delete a product from Shopify, it will be deleted from HubSpot too!
Shopify customers and abandoned cart contacts will also sync with HubSpot contacts with email addresses. Contacts if deleted in Shopify will not be deleted in HubSpot.
Your Shopify orders will sync with HubSpot in the E-commerce pipeline. Each Shopify order is associated with a product and a customer. It will be synced as a HubSpot deal with the corresponding contact and product. An order if deleted from Shopify will be deleted from HubSpot too!
You can also create an Ecommerce dashboard using Shopify in HubSpot. Let’s do it!
Go to Reports and select Dashboards in your HubSpot account.
Click on create a dashboard at the top right corner.
Now navigate to E-commerce in the left panel.
Click on the E-commerce template
You can review the pre-made reports from the right panel. Clear check boxes next to reports you don’t need and click on next.
Give the dashboard a name and set user access.
Click on create Dashboard.
You can also automate your E-commerce campaigns. Let’s see how!
Click on the marketplace icon and select connected apps under ‘Manage’.
Select Shopify and click on create an E-commerce Workflow.
You can now choose from any of the three E-commerce workflow types namely, new customer, abandoned cart, and Re-engagement workflow.
Suggested workflow actions will be in the Recommended section in the right panel. To have a look at more actions select to see more. Now select an action and add it to the workflow.
Now click Save.
Select the plus icon to add another action.
After this click on Click here to review and turn it on.
This will redirect you to the workflow in the workflow tool. Now select Review.
Review the settings and turn them on.
This was about it!
