TechPatio Post #500 – A Trip Down Memory Lane

This is my post number 500 on TechPatio.com since June 2009. That’s an average of 50 posts per month, 1.6 posts per day. What do you think, is that an acceptable number for a technology blog like this one? Before you leave a comment below, let’s take a quick stroll down memory lane…

My first post was from June 22nd 2009 and titled What would you do if your iPhone gets stolen or lost?
I had some posts before that one too, but on another domain, before I decided to move to TechPatio.com. The above post is the oldest one in my current WordPress database.

Let’s have a quick look at my 10 most popular posts over the last 10 months.

#1: The most popular one was How To Fix “Logitech Control Center” (LCC) Support In Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. At that time, Snow Leopard was just released and apparently lots of people had problems with Logitech and Snow Leopard.

#2: With just a few more pageviews (so this one will be the most popular one in a matter of a few days, actually), is Google Street View – More Funny Pictures (Part 1 of 2). I don’t really need to explain this one, do I? I should probably note that the post is just 1.5 months old, so it came a long way in a short time.

#3: The 3rd most popular posts is about a nice young lady who you can follow on Twitter as @CaroWozniacki if you’re into Tennis. The post is titled Caroline Wozniacki Breasts – but apparently many people think the they can see her breasts in that post. They can’t.

#4: Next on my top chart is Sony Ericsson W580i iSync plugin (S500i iSync) – a really old post, actually converted from a previous blog I had. The W850 phone is really old where I come from, but it’s still popular in other parts of the world.

#5: Last on the top 5 most popular posts list is Top 10 Most Hyped Gadgets Of All Time. The title is pretty self-explanatory, I’d say.

That was the 5 most popular posts here on TechPatio. Just to complete the top 10 list, here are 5 more:

#6: Funny Pictures: Google Street View Launched In Denmark
#7: iTunes Now Syncs With Palm Pre Again And Android
#8: I Should Have Waited With Snow Leopard Installation – Too Many Incompatiblity Issues
#9: How To: QuickTime X Autoplay Movies On Open In Snow Leopard
#10: Simple & Easy DIY iPhone Dock For Free

That’s it. Feel free to leave a comment below, whatever might have jumped into your head – just let it out again 🙂

    • Yes – when you have the solution to a problem, people will come – and in this case it was a Mac/Logitech problem 🙂

  3. Congrats – 500 posts in such a short time! I realize that if you had a staff helping you we’re love to have even more posts per day, but I think you do an amazing job of getting lots of great content to us – especially considering you have a busy life outside of blogging! Looking forward to more TechPatio in the future!

    • Wouldn’t it be cool to have a staff to write all the content for you? I sure wouldn’t mind 🙂 But staff ain’t free and I don’t want to pay others to blog on my behalf. Guest posts are welcome though, but other than that, I think I got it covered – for now 🙂

    • I’m glad you liked it Chris. There are some funny moments out there in the world, some of them captured nicely by the Google Street View camera-car 😀

  5. Wow, 50 a month is pretty good! I don’t get that many across my network of blogs, let alone in a single one!

    • Thanks Anne. Don’t worry, I think you have more unique content than I do. I don’t copy/paste any posts, but I sometimes gather news articles around and do a summary, if they are things I find interesting or I believe my readers would find interesting (mostly related to Apple and Google).

  6. 500 posts, that’s about 1-2 post per day in 10 months! I’m in awe, I can never be as prolific. I love the Google Street View post, sort of like a reminder to me to never do crazy stuffs in public. 500.. wow.. that number keeps circling in my head, the only way I could do that is to write for a complete different blog, different niche, different style.. phew.. *wondering*

    • Oh Ching Ya, no need to be in awe 🙂 As I just wrote to Anne (above), many of my posts are a summary of news articles that I gather, no way near being as unique as the posts you do over at wchingya.com. I’m thinking that when we get closer to the summer, I might start to turn it down a notch and post more of “my own things” – and less frequently – rather than what’s new in the world. We’ll see how it goes…
