Special Usenet/Newshosting Offer – Discount For Life & Unlimited Downloads

Usenet is a very fast and secure way of downloading pretty much anything you like – but in order to get access, you need to purchase a plan from one of the usenet providers. Such a plan will often provide you with a certain amount of Gigabytes per month, connections, security etc.

Right now, Newshosting.com is offering a special deal for new users. Their NHXL plan is normally $19.95 a month but right now, you can get it for just $15.95/month for life. It includes unlimited downloads (when they say unlimited, they really mean unlimited!), over 595 days of binary retention as well as secure downloads over SSL.

A cheaper plan is NH Unlimited for $13.95/month for life (normal price is $14.95). It also offers unlimited downloads and SSL, but “only” 450 days of binary retention.

I like Newshosting because:

  • Retention: Up to 599 days (binary).
  • Speed: High number of simultaneous connections provides high-speed access both in the US and Europe.
  • Security & privacy: All hosting plans feature a free 256-bit SSL encryption.
  • Uncensored newsgroups: Because censorship sucks!
  • Value: Newshosting offers the best bang for the buck.

Click here for more information on these Newshosting specials – there’s a video too, that explains all you need to know about Usenet.

Please note that the free 14 day/10GB trials available at Newshosting, does not apply to the offers above. If you want to check out the trials first, feel free to do so, but they are not available with these special offers.

  1. This looks cool but I have never heard of Usenet so I’m unfamiliar with the terminology – what does “binary retention” mean? Also, do you just get to download news or any other types of files like movies and games?

    • Hi Josh. Here’s some info on usenet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenet – it sounds very technical, but the bottom line is, with a subscription to a usenet server, you can download lots of stuff – both legal and illegal stuff. “Binary retention” means for how long the servers will keep binary files, like movie files, and everything else that are not just text. If somebody uploads a binary file, it will stay available on the servers for around 600 days, if the servers offer “600 days binary retention”.

I hope this helps – and of course I cannot encourage you to download copyrighted illegal content 😉

  2. You’ll also need a newsreader client (this acts as an interface between you and the usenet newsgroups servers). I recommend Grabit. www.shemes.com/dontfollow Free and I’ve never had any problems.

Next, hop on some NZB sites ( www.merlins-portal.net/dontfollow, www.uk-nzbs.com/dontfollow, www.nzbsrus.com/dontfollow ). Search for your content, download the NZB file, and then open (should default to grabit). You may need to unzip the file first. Grabit then does all the work;)
