1 – WordPress/Blogger App
Probably the most obvious in terms of apps to download are the WordPress and Blogger apps, depending on which platform you use. With both apps you can log into your account and draft and publish new posts, as well as add in pictures and tags. It’s blogging on the go made easy!
2 – Evernote
If the WordPress and Blogger apps were the most obvious, Evernote is probably the most valuable. Evernote allows you to “jot” down notes via typing them out or recording an audio file, upload files, and take pictures. So if you’re ever in a situation where you need to quickly take down an interesting blog post idea without crafting an actual post, Evernote allows you to do so quickly and efficiently.
3 – Google Analytics
Like regular Google Analytics, this app allows you to monitor your website’s traffic, bounce rate, how long people spent on your site, etc. – the only difference is that you can do it all from your phone!
4 – HootSuite
HootSuite combines all of your social media into one easy-to-access app. It also allows you to schedule updates to your statuses and then monitor your traffic from those updates.
5 – Byline
This app syncs up with Google Reader and allows you to access all of the blogs and websites that you follow in one organized place. It is basically an RSS feed for your phone, and the best part is that it works whether you’re on or offline. It’s the perfect way to stay up to date on what’s going on within your niche of the blogging community and keep fresh post ideas coming in.
Phones are quickly becoming the new mini-computers which allow you to do anything and everything while you’re on the go. Nothing is more frustrating than having a fantastic post topic and then losing it because by the time you get somewhere to put pen to paper you’ve forgotten the gist of what you wanted to say. The next time inspiration strikes, be prepared by downloading one (or all!) of these apps to ensure you capture every great idea.

Hi Christine,
Thank you for the list. I have installed hootsuite recently and it works well. I will definitely try the other one’s. I especially liked the Byline App which helps in updating about our niche..
Excellent selection, Christine!
I had never heard of/used Byline before, but I definitely will now. I’ve wanted to find a way to shift all of my blog reading from my inbox to one place, and now there’s a way! WordPress and Blogger are definitely must-haves!
Great klist. I already use Evernote but I’ll try these too
Great list of apps. I’ve also found WordPress and Evernote very useful on the iPad. They make posting whist you’re travelling very easy. I also use NewsRack as an RSS news aggregator which syncs between an iPhone and the iPad and does a good job too.
It’s true that mobile phones are acting like mini computers nowadays. Technology is really advancing, isn’t it? I never knew that there’s an Apps for Google Analytics. This is great! I’m always on the run and this would come really handy. Thanks for sharing!
hi everyone, I’ve been using WordPress app and Evernote since a long time and i am very happy with them. I will definitely try the rest.
Great list of apps. I’ve also found Google Analytics very useful on the iPad.
This looks like good applications, I have only used WordPress/Blogger App and it is perfect when you are in holiday. Other ones I have never used but I am planing to try them and see how they can help me.
The first one – Blogger/wordpress is the most important of the lot.
I use Manalytics for HTC Desire Android which is good, keep’s me on top of my google analytic stats!
I have already used WordPress for blogging which is very useful. All the apps are looking awesome from their description. I really want to use these apps and see how it will help me.
Thanks to share this outstanding post.
Google Reader + plenty of RSS feeds for me. Aggregating all your sources on hot topics into 1 place….makes topical sites much more effecient when tryping to find what to write about.
I can’t believe I’ve never thought of using WordPress or Analytics apps on my mobile devices! Many thanks for the list, I’m straight off the the apps store!
Evernote and Google Analytics are the easiest applications 😉 The other are little complex for use 🙂 This is my opinion 😉
Good Luck 😉
Since reading this post originally, I’ve been using Evernote and it’s fantastic. It allows me to create notes on any of my iOS devices and synch them together. Obviously it’ll work on Android devices too. As with the WordPress app, I can’t believe I’ve never used Evernote before!
