LET-LOK® – How it Works

LET-LOK® connectors are designed to be easy to use and, as such, their assembly is very simple. One only has to insert the tube into the full assembly until the tube bottoms-out against the fitting body. The resultant mechanical force from rotating the nut clockwise, drives the two ferrules onward between the nut and the fitting body. The back ferrule is pressed up against the tapered rear of the front ferrule and the front ferrule is then forced into the body’s tapered mouth. The rear ferrule in turn, is radially swaged inwards on the tube while lifting the front ferrule out to form a full-faced seal on the body’s tapered surface. Lastly, depending on the sizes, the 11/4 and 3/4 turn of the nut from the hand tight position guarantees steady drive of the sealing members. This further ensures that an effective seal against ultra-high vacuum and high-pressure conditions is achieved.
