Fortune, one of the leading business media brands in the world, has released their annual list of the world’s most admired companies, and Apple has secured the top spot.
The tech giant has managed to stay in the lead for an impressive 16 years straight now.
For the 2023 list, Fortune, in collaboration with management consulting company Korn Ferry, pinpointed and narrowed down about 1,500 companies that were eligible to be the most admired in the world. For the selection of the 50 All-Stars, Korn Ferry asked 3,760 corporate executives, directors and securities analysts to vote in a survey the 10 companies they admired most.
Tech and entertainment companies have secured the top three spots, with Amazon as runner-up and Microsoft, Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase rounding out the top five, respectively.
Fortune states:
“The biggest tech companies may be facing relatively tough times, but the 25th edition of the Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies All-Stars list suggests that the giants’ peers respect them as much as ever.
For the 16th consecutive year, Apple finishes first in our annual ranking of corporate reputation, based on a poll of some 3,700 corporate executives, directors, and analysts.
Amazon and Microsoft tied for second. Financial companies earned recognition for navigating an inflation-addled economy: JPMorgan Chase (No. 5) reached its highest rank ever, while Morgan Stanley made its debut in our top 50. Elsewhere, Costco Wholesale (No. 7) rose above its industry’s supply-chain woes to notch its best-ever ranking, while Netflix fell from No. 9 to 29 as fierce competition dented its historic dominance in streaming.”
