Apple unveils new HomePod with Breakthrough Sound and Intelligence

The all-new HomePod is packed with the intelligent Siri assistant, Apple innovations and smart home capabilities, while providing a truly immersive listening experience.

Apple on Wednesday (January 18) announced the latest HomePod (2nd generation), a great smart speaker that brings out next-level acoustics in a gorgeous and elegant design.

When compared to the first HomePod first released in 2018, it is obvious that very little has changed in its external casing, with only a minor height difference and the color switch from space gray to midnight. However, things get more interesting with what’s inside: sensors, internal speaker arrangements, and chipsets have all been updated.

Integrated with Siri intelligence and Apple innovations, the all-new HomePod delivers advanced computational audio for a groundbreaking listening experience, including support for immersive Spatial Audio tracks.

With new convenient ways to help manage daily tasks and control the smart home, users can now create smart home automations with the use of Siri, check temperature and humidity in a room, and get notified when a carbon monoxide or smoke alarm is detected in their home – all hands-free.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said:

“Leveraging our audio expertise and innovations, the new HomePod delivers rich, deep bass, natural mid-range, and clear, detailed highs. With the popularity of HomePod mini, we’ve seen growing interest in even more powerful acoustics achievable in a larger HomePod. We’re thrilled to bring the next generation of HomePod to customers around the world.”

Price

The price of the HomePod (2nd generation) starts at $299.

The new HomePod can be ordered starting January 18 (Wednesday), on the Apple store and in the Apple Store app.

This will be made available to customers, and in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers, starting February 3 (Friday).
