Interview & Review: Ryan, Webmaster Forum – LovingTech

MicrophoneWelcome to the first interview I’ve ever done for TechPatio – I hope you like it!

Ryan Grant is a talented young individual from North West England who has a passion for developing successful websites, his latest creation is the LovingTech Webmaster Forum, which I’m personally also a member of.

LovingTech Webmaster Forum consist of the following main categories:

  • Community
  • Marketing
  • Webmaster
  • Business
  • Technology

Obviously you’ll also find sub categories within those main categories, so if you want to talk about Apple and Gaming, you can find sub categories for that in the Technology forum. Likewise if you’re looking for somebody to discuss Webdesign & Graphics or Coding & Web development with, you’ll find sub categories for those within the Webmaster category.

It’s not all business though, the Community category is there for anything else you want to talk about, which really helps to grow the actual community and the strong bonds within. I could go on and on about all the topics as well, but you should go check it out for yourself.

Let me bottom line it for you – I very much like the way Ryan organised his Webmaster Forum, it’s not bloated with categories that requires a user manual just to find out which category to post in. It takes literally just a few seconds and you’ll have all the overview you need.

Great categories aren’t just all it takes though, but also design wise LovingTech forum comes a long way with it’s very clean, brilliant you could say, design. Your eyes doesn’t strain when participating in all the threads, which I especially enjoy as I tend to use quite a lot of time in there already 🙂

As of September 13th, the LovingTech Webmaster Forum has a total of 26,334 posts in 3,393 threads and 1,337 members.

Let’s get on with the interview with Ryan and find out more about him and his new LovingTech Webmaster Forum.

Klaus: LovingTech.net seems to have come a long way already, when did you actually launch it?

Ryan: Hey Klaus! It’s great that you are interviewing me. LovingTech was launched at the end of January 2009.

Klaus: Did you come up with the idea yourself or were you backed by somebody? After all, launching a forum is not an easy task nowadays.

Ryan: Just myself. I created it, designed it and came up with the name etc.

Klaus: I see, so you must be some kind of web guru then, since you pretty much did it all by yourself?

Ryan: Webmastering is a hobby and has been for many years, but since some of the other major forums in this niche have been ruined with scammers, spammers, power mad moderators and stupid “one word”-posts, I decided to create a solution to these problems; a friendly, professional, well designed and user friendly forum with extra topics.

Klaus: What’s your personal goals with LovingTech, where do you want to take the forum?

Ryan: LovingTech has the desire to be the largest webmaster/tech forum on the Internet, by that, meaning have more active users, a loyal userbase. Tech forum includes webmaster specific forums. I have the desire to succeed with the forum. People who see the forum love it and use it, but not many people see it. I do have a plan for making it a place where people can find tradespeople without being scammed, and help with questions without spammy replies.

Klaus: Sounds awesome, how far do you think you would have gotten in, say, 5 years?

Ryan: I see the forum in 5 years time being massive, well respected and known community.

Klaus: Not bad, let’s see if we can get some more users for you, then! Here in the dying minutes, tell me why you believe that my readers should join your forum?

Ryan: That’s easy Klaus, LovingTech forum is simply better 🙂 No, let me be honest, we have a more beautiful designed forum unlike other forums of a similar niche. We got more topics related to computers, Internet, gaming, hardware and security than any other forum of the same niche plus it’s well moderated, there’s no sh*t and we don’t tolerate spam either, you’ll be getting a clean and excellent atmosphere. Lastly I’d also just like to point out that LovingTech is still a rather new forum but it’s very dynamic and the solution to troubled webmaster forums like Digital Point.

Klaus: Well said, and yeah, I’ve also heard more and more people complaining about poor moderation and atmosphere at Digital Point, which is too bad. Thanks for taking the time to answer these few questions, Ryan!

Ryan: You’re welcome. I’ll be seeing you – and hopefully some techpatio.com readers – on the forum.

That concludes my interview with Ryan from LovingTech Forums. Please let me know in the comments what you thought about it, so I know what to do better next time.

  5. Awesome interview. I am impressed about the forums success. It is so difficult to stand out today, specially a forum where you know, are full of spammers and one worded “A**h****”. Sometimes I don’t even stay close to forums as I do not see too much value in it anymore. Ryan did point some very interesting issues and appears to be genuinely credible. I’ll check it out, but make no promises that I’ll join:) Congrats on your first interview, keep it up

    • Forums are great for a lot of things, I have no doubts about that 🙂 But of course it’s not for everybody, I do think however, most people will be able to enjoy a good forum thread every now and then, just by following a few basic rules/advices. I hope you’ll be joining 🙂 Thanks for your comment.

Why there are two ‘subscribe via email’ options?

  13. Really inspiring interview, I don’t join many forums nowadays due to time constraints and unable to find a really useful forum that I need. However, if there are good forums which I think worth to join, then I will have a look and become the members. I’ll check on this forum and thanks for the recommendation.
