Conan O’Brien On Twitter: Sarah Killen, Your Life Is About To Change

by Klaus on March 5, 2010

in Twitter

Conan O’Brien, you might have heard of him in relation to Jay Leno and The Tonight Show. Long story short, he has over 500,000 followers on Twitter – and he doesn’t follow anybody himself. Until 1 hour ago, where he wrote this tweet:

Sarah Killen, who is @LovelyButton, up until a few hours ago had just 5 followers on Twitter. Now, she has over 5,000 followers and the number is rising. I hope she doesn’t have Twitter notifications enabled or she’ll be downloading 5,000+ e-mails the next time she checks her e-mail. I wonder what might go through her head when she:

  1. Notices how many e-mails she just received.
  2. How many followers she now has.
  3. That Conan O’Brien himself, decided to follow her – and change her (Twitter) life.

“Sarah Killen” is also a trending topic on Twitter at the moment, meaning her name is being tweeted by many right now (yes, including @TechPatio)…

Now might be a good time for Sarah to sign up for MyLikes or Sponsored Tweets and start capitalize on all her new followers 🙂

Although he has loads of followers and fans, I still think the wording is a BIT ARROGANT, “…your life is about to change.” Because he followed her, her LIFE is going to change?

That’s true 🙂 I guess it’s just the way he is? I’ve never had the chance to watch his Tonight Shows though, so I’ve only seen small bits of him on TV and commercials.

It doesn’t matter how Conan said it. I’d always take whatever comedians say tongue-in-cheek.

Oh and Sarah Killen now also has a Squirrel follower.

You’re right about that – comedians sometimes say the weirdest things and often they are supposed to have people make a fuss about it.

She’s certainly getting there. She now has over 11,000 followers and I saw her in a Skype videointerview on some MTV-website earlier today.

I wonder when will be our days to get so lucky? 🙂 ha.. interesting that for once, there are some advantages to follow the celebrities. I can imagine the tone and look of Conan when he (solemnly) blurted out that phrase while pointing to the camera.
Ah.. comedians, full of un-expectancy.

Social media marketing has been proven effective by all types of business, and this is where a lot of brands focus nowadays. Facebook is the second most visited website in US and its one of the reason why a lot of people focus on advertising or promoting their website over the it to maximize their profits.
