Just yesterday, Apple sent out a press release saying that they have just sold its one millionth iPad on Friday – it took them 28 days to sell a million iPads, less than half of the 74 days it took to sell one million iPhones.
The sales are expected to increase as the iPad is scheduled to go on sale internationally by the end of this month, but it’s still unclear exactly which countries will get it in the first round.
“One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.”
The more the merrier :).
Can’t wait till the iPad comes to Canada.
Hopefully I can get one before September…:D.

I sure wouldn’t mind getting one either, despite iBooks not being available over here yet – but that’s not going to be a problem after I found out how easy it is to use the Kindle app on iPhone, then I could easily use it on iPad as well 🙂
Copyright can be no fun at times. Especially since America hold most if not all of them. I would use the iPad more for web browsing (HTML5 FTW), and gaming (we rule :D). Stanza also works.

This is really a big achievement! But unfortunately, I have no chance to purchase one because it is not allowed to sell iPad in my country. What a pity!

How come it’s not allowed? Is it just Apple rules or is it forbidden by law?
Unfortunately, it has been forbidden by some relevant laws.

Still havnt managed to get my hands on one of these yet, maybee when the price goes down a little!
WOW! 1 million sold already! Apple is a damn good company!
I’m waiting to get my iPad when a new version comes out!! Sooo excited! 🙂
I don’t think I can wait till the next version comes out 🙂 I might buy the cheaper wifi version when I can, and then a more expensive 3G version when the next 2nd generation is out (one with camera, I hope).
1 millions is really a big number. Apple really rock on geek zone. Waiting to see what Google and Microsoft bring to compete with iPad. Kindle is no more in my interest zone now.

I’m sure Microsoft might come up with something, but I think Google will “only” provide Android or similar to run on tablet computers, but who knows, they might built one themselves.

It is a good achievement for apple. their stock is through the roof. We’ll see how these sales do through the summer.
Even though I’m not a fan of the way apple conducts their business, I gotta give them credit on their ability to really sell.
Since you mention the stock price – yeah, it’s really through the roof, and I think that explains pretty well that people doesn’t always care about having 2 or 3 USB ports and if the CPU is the newest etc., people just want what works and what looks good. Well, some do 🙂

I am in China, and I got a ipad direclty from us, really expensive for me, but it worth, I am a apple fan, all of apple product like art, awesome.
ps: I have also upload a video on youtube about “Chinese Kungfu ipad vs Apple Ipad”
Wow, I could imagine how expensive that must have been – especially if you had to buy it off somebody who purchased it only to sale it again (export). I hope you like it!
