Budget smartphones are the latest trend in the smartphone industry. However, not many devices have got the desired design and build quality. Also, until recently the budget smartphones used to be slow and laggy and lacked certain desirable features. However, all the smartphone manufacturers have realized the importance of budget smartphones in determining their success. Moto G and Google Nexus 5 are two such superb phones in the regard. Even though they may be slightly higher priced than the normal budget smartphones, however considering their high end features they still can be considered as budget devices.

Design

Moto G is an unassuming device when looked from the front. The small earpiece grille and front facing camera is aptly placed on the body. The weight of the device is roughly 143 grams which is slightly heavier than Nexus 5. On the other hand, Nexus 5 is equally good in looks. The installed OS in Moto G and Nexus 5 is Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 respectively.

Display

Moto G offers a brilliant screen of 4.5 inches which is supported by 720 x 1280 pixels resolutions and a decent pixel density of 329 ppi. On the other hand, Nexus 5 supports a 5 inch screen supporting a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at a pixel density of 445 ppi. Both the devices are enriched with various sensors including light sensor, proximity sensor and covered by scratch resistant glass.

Camera

There isn’t any much difference in the Nexus 5 and Moto G in this department. Both of the devices support LED flash and come with various camera features that included Digital Zoom, Auto Focus, Face detection etc. However, with an 8 MP camera Nexus 5 may be considered as a better camera than the 5 MP of Moto G. Apart from the rear camera, both these smartphones consist of a 1.3MP front camera.

Hardware

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor powers both these devices. They are supported by Quad Core processor but with 2260 MhZ frequency the processor speed if much higher than the 1200 MHz of Moto G. The internal storage of the device also varies as in Nexus 5 it is 16 GB, which is twice of what is available in Moto G. Also, RAM of Nexus 5 is 2 GB as compared to 1 GB RAM of Nexus 5.

Lastly, Google Nexus 5 has got various advanced features as compared to Moto G. However, it’s also true that the price of Nexus 5 is also much higher. Thus, considering the price of Moto G it is also a good deal for the customers.
