Apps such as Hulu, Hulu Plus, and Netflix allow you to stream movies and television shows – with limited or no commercial interruptions – directly to your tablet.
Others apps, such as Spotify and iHeartRadio make it possible to stream music to your tablet. Even more, there are a wealth of game apps that are downloadable to your device, including the popular Angry Birds and Candy Crush Saga. And there are always new apps coming on the market.
Affordability
Then there is the cost factor. Purchasing a tablet for entertainment purposes is likely a cheaper route than obtaining the often costlier laptop. True, the laptop has greater functionality, but the tablet is a more suitable device for the individual who only wants to watch a film or television show while sitting at a café sipping his or her coffee, or flying the friendly skies to their next destination.
And with a tablet, you still have the ability of being connected to the world at large. Its Wi-Fi capabilities mean you can check your email, Facebook, and Twitter updates while on the go. You can even read your favorite magazine or peruse your favorite newspaper online.
If you want a device that you can load with your favorite movies, television shows, games and music, you need a tablet.
