Apple Arcade Hits Milestone of Over 200 Games

With over 200 games to choose from (with new ones added almost every week) at only $4.99 a month, it really is a bargain!

Apple Arcade, launched on September 19, 2019, is a video game subscription service offered by Apple, available through several platforms including the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and Mac.

A few weeks before it celebrates its two-year anniversary, Apple Arcade has hit a milestone of over 200 games available in its library, which includes classic and original titles.

Apple’s gaming platform reached the 200-game count on Friday August 6, after the newest addition of Super Stickman Golf 3, Super Leap Day and Monster Hunter Stories to their catalog. During Apple Arcade’s debut in 2019, there were around 100 exclusive titles available for play, and Apple promised that new games would be added each week, according to CNET.

“After a little wait, Monster Hunter Stories is now available as an Apple Arcade game, making it free for all Apple Arcade subscribers.

Monster Hunter Stories was already available as a $20 purchase, but its move to Apple Arcade means that more people than ever can now enjoy a game that has proven popular among fans of the series.”

Aside from exclusive games, Apple unveiled earlier this year two new game categories for Apple Arcade, namely “App Store Greats” and “Timeless Classics”. There were over 30 classic games added to Apple Arcade since April, including popular titles like Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja and Monument Valley.

If you wish to try it, you can get a 3-month free trial of Apple Arcade when you purchase a new device, or get it one month for free if you are signing up for the first time. Simply open the App Store and select the small joystick icon at the bottom to launch the service.

With Apple Arcade, users can download and play all games available without in-app purchases or advertisements. The subscription price for Apple Arcade is an affordable $4.99, but it’s also included in the Apple One bundle. The service is available in over 150 countries worldwide.

  1. While the games seems to look pretty good, $4.99 per month is just another monthly expense on top of all other subscriptions we just have to pay. It isn’t really worth the expense and if the kids gets hooked on it it, we are stuck paying for it until they get grow-up or get bored. There are tons of free games available on the internet, Apple should have made it free.
