OnePlus is getting ready to launch the OnePlus 10 Pro all over the world. While that is exciting, current users of the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 series have reason to celebrate as well. The OEM is now pushing out the stable OxygenOS 12 upgrade to the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8T, and 9R after releasing a single Open Beta release based on Android 12 for these smartphones.
Upgrade to OxygenOS 12 delivers Stable Android 12
The stable release’s build number is C.11 (for the OnePlus 8 series)/C.14 (for the OnePlus X) (for the OnePlus 9R). The revamped user interface is the first noticeable change in the OxygneOS 12 release, aside from the Android 12 base. There are also a lot of new and improved quality of life features, such as Canvas AOD, file sharing, and the OnePlus Watch Card in Shelf. The Android security patch level (SPL) is a little out of date since these builds arrived with February 2022 security fixes.
Despite the fact that this is a stable build, it is presently only available to existing Open Beta participants. Furthermore, owing to extra certification requirements, the update for the OnePlus 8 series has not yet been released for the European model. Unless any major defects are discovered, we expect the stable OxygenOS 12 OTA to go out to all customers over the next week.
Wrapping Up
You may either wait for your device to be picked up as part of the staged rollout or sideload the update using the accessible download links on the internet. You may get the rollback package from the URL below if you ever want to revert to the OxygenOS 11 version. Keep in mind that doing so will wipe out all of your data, so make a backup beforehand.
