The developer behind VernX contacted me to get my opinion on his first iPhone game. Long story short, I really enjoyed testing it, so I decided to write up a quick post about it and share it with you guys.
VernX is an original action puzzle game. The goal of the game is to guide 50 particles from start to finish while avoiding obstacles. Built from the ground up with a custom game engine that allows for a unique experience. Interact with up to two hundred and twenty moving objects on screen at any given time.
- Original game concept
- Unique and intuitive accelerometer-based control system
- 65 different levels (more coming soon)
- 3 gameplay modes (Challenge mode,Sandbox mode and X-mode)
- 4 game skins
- Various gameplay elements, levels are varied.
- Stable Framerate
VernX comes in two versions, a free Light version and a Paid version at $1, with a difference in levels. The light version has 7 levels (5 challenge levels, 1 sandbox level and one X-level) while the full version has 65 levels (40 challenge levels, 20 sandbox levels and 5 X-levels).
VernX is a really simple game but offers lots of entertaining if you’re into such games. It’s kinda like the Labyrinth game that’s been out for the iPhone since forever, except here you don’t get to control 1 ball through a labyrinth, but instead 50 balls. Well, “particles”, but you get the idea.
For its simple yet challenging gameplay, and its really low price, I’m rating VernX with 4 out of 5 apples.
