Most online users today have tried, or seen, Google Earth in action. You know, the one with the satellite images where you can almost see yourself sunbathe in the back yard. In Google Earth, 3D isn’t something new – it’s been around for some time now, but it has mostly been in low resolution and far from finished.
Google is now taking it one step further by using their widely popular (and funny) Street View pictures to improve texture and quality of the 3D-part in Google Earth.
It’s quite fascinating, as you can see from this video below (best viewed in HD). Now we just need somebody to convert this to Sim City 🙂
What will be next? 3D inside everybody’s house? I think it is going too far
