Which LED TV to buy this Christmas?

Christmas is one of the most popular times of year for families to buy new television sets. There’s often a bit of money in the kitty after your Christmas bonus and it serves as a great gift to yourself and your family, a gift that everybody can enjoy.

What’s more, getting yourself a new telly before Christmas is a sure-fire way to impress the relatives when they come round for Boxing Day dinner (and we all know there’s nothing better than getting one over on your sister in-law!).

More and more people are opting for LED TVs nowadays. This is understandable considering how much they have come down in price and the quality of picture they offer. The question then, is which LED TV you should go for this Christmas?

Here, we’ll give a brief overview of the leading LED TVs currently on the market, to help you choose which one is right for you.

Samsung UE60D6505 3D LED Television

This Samsung is the Cadillac of LED televisions. At over 2,000 pounds, it’s also towards the higher end of the price bracket here, so you’ll need a fair bit of financial clout or a good finance scheme.

The highlight of this television has to be its 60 inch 3D screen, making it perfect for watching your favourite sport, or the latest Hollywood movie.

3D screens have been huge in 2011 and are set to be even bigger in 2012. If your budget allows, then why not pick up one now, set the trend and be the envy of all of your friends.

Toshiba 42SL863B LED Television

Those looking for something a bit more competitively priced and something a little less grand may be tempted to invest in this little number from Toshiba.

The television features Toshiba’s unique SMART TV, which allows full access to internet TV, so you can watch all your favourite programmes whenever you like – including the BBC iPlayer.

The quality of the picture is, as you expect with all LED TVs, is almost perfect. It is full 1080P HD and its resolution is 1920 x 1080. At just under £600, it’s an option for those with even the most modest of budgets.

Panasonic TXL19D28BW LED Television

You might not necessarily be looking to replace your main television set – you might have only recently upgraded your old one. This doesn’t means you won’t be in the market for an LED television this Christmas though, you may be looking to invest in one for your bedroom, or even your kitchen.

If this is the case with you, then this Panasonic should be made a consideration. 18.5 inches, including a backlight, make it perfect for the bedroom. It’s sleek and stylish, so it looks perfect on a wall bracket.

  4. Hi, Michael!
You are right, getting an LCD TV can really make an impression on the relatives coming by for a Christmas dinner. I was thinking of buying one bigger LCD this year, although Christmas was not the specific date that I had in mind.
I personally like the Samsung models the most of all. They are always of good and high quality and yet, they tend to have lower prices than the other brands.

  8. Jeg har et LG det er et ok tv, og gik ikke efter mærket, men så mere på billederne der blev leveret i butikken, det er nemmere der at sammenligne dem allesammen, da de står ved siden af hinanden.
