Always Be Prepared: A CD Duplication Technology Cheat Sheet

DVD and CD duplication can be a very simple process if you follow and understand the procedure.  Copying video, data and music files through duplication is considered a right decision when you want to create multiple copies of “your own” DVD’s and CD’s.  To make sure that your copy sound and look perfect the way you need, always make sure to follow the following:

Look for a duplication company should be used in duplication

Below are tips to help you decide which DVD CD duplication company

1. Always request for print examples used by various print procedures from the disc duplicator.  Through this you could decide which printing procedure is perfect for your CD.

2. Find out what media is used.  Look for DVD’s and CD’s with less errors and don’t allow the duplicator to mess up quality just to save few bucks.

3. Assure that the turnaround time before duplication procedure starts.  If the CD duplication company is not able to meet your due date, find another provider.

4.  Select a provider with established name in the market.  Always consider that there are providers that provide CD duplication using just a one duplicator.

Before submitting your master disc, always make sure that you have all your artwork ready for printing the disc surface.

1. Check if your artwork is not less than 300dpi.

2. Utilize a standard graphic application in creating your artwork like Photoshop and Illustrator.

3.  Find out what type of data they prefer to use (e.g. JPEG, PNG, TIFF).

4. Be aware that sudden changes in your artwork could cause unwanted delays.

5.  Before your [tp lang=”en” only=”y”]CD duplication[/tp][tp not_in=”en”]CD duplication[/tp] company starts the job, ask for a digital proof disc.

Building a High quality master Disc

Having the accurate burn speed and quality media is important to have a good quality copy.

1. Use a high quality or branded DVD or CD like Taiyo-Yuden and Philips when building your master disc.

2. Set your first quality master CD at a slow burning speed.  Refrain from burning at 16x speed or higher when burning a high quality video or music CD.

3.  Always test your master CD on different types of disc players to assure that it plays in all kinds of disc drives (e.g. Car stereo, CD player, computer disc drive).

Then here you go, always follow this simple checklist to have a high quality copy of your original CD.  I used this checklist a lot and it will really save you time, money, and effort. If you’ve got more insights or addition to this checklist, I’d love to hear them!

  5. It would be nice to ensure that the quality of the CD/DVD maker are good since the files to be saved there are mostly important and large files also tend to be damage when it falls on a bad partition.
