ScanCard Business Card Reader
The ScanCard app is one of the best business card readers that are available for free, from both the Apple Store and Android Market. The app captures business card images fast and accurately recognizes the information stored on them. The app can recognize multiple languages including English, traditional Chinese and several European languages. The app also supports batch processing and automatic storage of the contact information. The app falls short in its lack of two-sided scan option and it does not support contact export to exchange.
ScanBizCards Business Card Reader
ScanBizCard comes with about 27 features, placing it ahead of other free business card applications. The app is also available in both the Apple Store and Android Market with free and paid options. The app supports capturing and scanning of business cards, which can then be accessed through the app. The app integrates the use of Skype and other services accessible through Android 2.0 and Apple devices. One of the merits of the app is that it automatically stores the scanned cards, as opposed to most other business card readers which require manual verification before storage.
Card Munch Business Card Reader
Card Munch is one of the highly rated business card readers for both Apple and Android devices. The app combines vision technology and human intelligence to allow smart phone users to transform their business cards to virtual contacts. The user’s card images are manually verified by Card Munch staff members, guaranteeing accuracy. The verification process takes a few seconds and the user gets the image back on their phone within no time. The Card Munch app backs up the user’s contacts for added security and the contacts are also stored on the user’s address book. Card Munch was recently bought by LinkedIn, allowing users to access the app completely for free.
WorldCard Business Card Reader
The WorldCard reader is available in both the Apple Store and Android market with free and paid options. The app can automatically detect contact information from captured card images and sorts the cards to user defined fields in the phone’s address book. One of the short comings of the app is that it does not capture the contact information accurately with every scan. The free version only allows 3 contact exports weekly.
CamCard Business Card Reader
The CamCard business card app comes with several functions allowing users to capture, export and sync their card image contacts. The card images captured are superior in quality and the recognition speed of the app is considerably fast. Multiple languages can be recognized by the app. The app experiences slight delays when capturing card images, and the free version allows only 3 contact additions weekly.
