Apple Arcade Soon to Offer Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls

The treasured gothic fantasy series returns with an original game exclusive to Apple Arcade with “Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls”.

It was back in 2018 when famous Japanese company Konami announced a new game in the classic Castlevania series. Subtitled Grimoire of Souls, it featured a group of iconic characters and the mobile exclusive game was first released on Android and iOS devices in 2019, albeit only in Canada. However, the game was discontinued in that region in late 2020, and many thought the reasons were possibly due to lack of player interest and its in-game microtransaction element. Konami never gave an explanation as to why the title was removed from the App Store that time.

Now things are looking up for Castlevania fans as, according to Konami, the game will be making a comeback on the Apple Arcade, and the great thing about it is there will be no in-game purchase options this time.

In its App Store preview, Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is described as a full-fledged side-scrolling action game that puts players in the shoes of familiar characters like Alucard, Charlotte, Maria, Shanoa and Simon Belmont as they battle with Dracula’s minions.

The App Store description reads, “Set in a world after Dracula has been sealed away, the pages of a new story bringing together heroes of the past have begun to turn.”

The game will feature iconic characters from the entire series, each with their own unique skills and abilities. Players make their way through deadly traps and explore the world written within the grimoires and face off against devastating bosses. The game has multiple game modes including bounty hunt and co-op. To keep players engaged, fresh content will be offered in the form of daily and weekly missions.
