Facebook Gets Twitter-Like @Reply Feature In Status Updates

in Facebook

Facebook logoFacebook seems to be moving more and more into the whole Twitter thing recently and now they just added yet another Twitter like feature: “@Replies” in your status updates.

It’s very simple. As you write your status update, you just hit “@” on your keyboard and you can start writing the name of the person you want to tag/mention and you can select them from a live-updated drop down list below your status update as you write.

Example: Facebook @ reply/mention twitter-like feature

The tagged user will receive a notice about being tagged, just like it happens with pictures etc.

As with most other tagging-related stuff within Facebook, the tagged user can of course remove himself from being tagged if he doesn’t want to be tagged in your status update.

Oh great, “let’s not create original ideas (if idea’s can be original in the first place), let copy it from another popular service”.
