Facebook sets a new Photo upload record

Randi Zuckerberg (Mark’s sister) who leads Facebook’s consumer marketing team, wrote in a tweet that 750 million photos were uploaded to Facebook during the New Years Eve weekend. The previous record was during Halloween 2010.

In July 2010, Facebook said more than 100 million photos are uploaded to their site – each day!

It’s unknown exactly how many photos are currently stored on Facebook, but if you estimate that each Facebook user has uploaded 100 photos (on average), times 500 million users, there could potentially be 50 billion photos on Facebook servers…

Flickr said in September 2010 that their users have uploaded a 5 billion photos.

    • Yes – and also gives Facebook more options for using our photos for their own purposes 🙂

    • I agree, The Social Network movie was better than expected, but I’m not going to buy it on DVD or anything, ever 🙂 I’m probably not going to watch it again, either… but as a one-time-show, it was a good watch.

Personally I don’t understand the need to constantly share every little info on social networks…
