Here is what you should know when selling on Amazon

You Can Make $100K Selling On Amazon every year easily!

I am not BSing here. If you are serious about making money on Amazon, the sky is the limit. You can make as low as one grand per year or as high as one hundred grand per year. It all depends on you and the way you market your products. Learning Amazon is not a rocket science. Especially if you have ever sold anything online, Amazon is like learning your second lot of the alphabets.

Talking about alphabets, here are a few things that you should keep in mind when selling on Amazon.

1. Competition Doesn’t Matter If Your Product Is Exceptional

All those guys who used to say that competition matters on Amazon, and that you should trade products that no one else is selling LIE to you. Competition is already fierce everywhere. Whether you go with Amazon or without Amazon, you will face a lot of competition. This isn’t 2010. It is close to 2020, and the world knows about digital selling.

The only way to stand out from the competition is to make your product exceptional. If you are selling a Himalayan lamp, ask yourself what other features can I add to the product for the same price. Can I make it unique or different from what is already selling in the market? Innovation beats the competition. Remember.

2. Price it As China Does!

Want to make it big on Amazon? Your focus should be more than asking yourself how much can i make selling on Amazon? Try to beat others in pricing. Your prices should be high enough to sustain you in the business but low enough to beat the competition. Do what China is doing to the global market. It beats everyone in prices. No one can beat China because it has numerous resources at its disposal. You can do the same on Amazon. Leverage mass selling to make a profit instead of selective selling.

3. Images Can Make or Break Your Bank

If you are serious and stern about selling on Amazon, make your images attractive. Almost everyone coming to your Amazon store would want to see the use cases of the products. Show them how the product can be used. For example, if it is a fitness machine, add videos. Show the usage of the machine. How male and female members look like when they use it. And, most importantly, how it will look in their house.

4. Bring Your Products to Amazon Buy Box

While optimization of your products for keywords is a good way to promote your products, it isn’t the only way. If you can make it to the buy box on Amazon, your chances of selling increase by 2X. And, Amazon has a very smart algorithm that places only the products with the lowest prices, or faster shipping, to the Amazon buy box. If you have a product bundle, you can also get space in the Amazon buy box.

5. Use FBA If You Have Products in Bulk

Amazon offers two options for users who would want to sell through it. Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM). Users who would like to sell on Amazon can either buy the products and store them in Amazon’s warehouse – Amazon will charge a flat fee of storing the items. Or, they can store the items in their warehouses and directly sell the products to merchants – Amazon will charge a 15% product display fee only.

Both work well for users. However, the FBA model sells more items. Customers trust Amazon and therefore buy products that offer Amazon Prime shipping. If you want to sell more items through Amazon, then FBA is the way to go.

6. Use Customer Reviews to Your Advantage

No merchant ever wants to lose sales. Amazon optimizes listings through the reviews it gets in the first two weeks of the product listing. So, you can work with third parties to add better customer reviews to your products. There are many third-party websites that are willing to offer better reviews on your products. Use them to your advantage. Ecomcrew offers many options to turn customer reviews to your advantage.

7. Customers Should Be Your First Priority

Remember, customers first! If you are a product seller, it is your responsibility to cater to all customers. If they want a refund, think of a mutual understanding that creates a win-win for both of you. Provide a replacement. Or a fix for the product right on their doorstep. Or, maybe a discount on another purchase. There are many options to win back these customers by offering them options that solve their problems.

8. Amazon Alone Is Not the End of the World – Go OmniChannel

Finally, Amazon is not the only way to make money. There are many websites in the market that use Amazon as a way to list their products and then sell these products directly through their own websites. Or even their YouTube Channels/Facebook pages/Instagram accounts.

Amazon products can be integrated into many places. Find creative ways you can market your Amazon products OUT OF Amazon. This way, you will be able to target even those people that are not on Amazon. The competition will also be much lower when you use proactive channels to promote your items. Amazon has a complete process of how this can be done. Use it to double your sales volume.

Bottom-line

If you are following these eight strategies to sell your products on Amazon, I can guarantee you that very soon you will be hitting your one hundred grand targets. Just make sure that you are consistent, dedicated, and ready to adapt and improvise when needed. Also, remember that nothing in the world is forever. The tips I provided may change in the next two years, but the strategies they include will remain doable always. So, understand the concepts and don’t just follow the tips.
