A website conversion rate refers to the percentage of visitors that end up making a purchase. Having a website is essential for business as it allows them to easily market their products and even interact with current and potential customers. However, owning a website is not enough.Businesses need to make money and thus it does not add value by just having people visit the website without enquiring or making any purchase. There are several tips that can aid website owners to properly strategies on ways of improving their website conversion rates.

Design of the Website

The first thing to focus on is the design of the website. The website need not be fancy or full of flashy images. The important thing here is to keep the website simple and easy to use. A website that is easy to navigate and is soft on the eyes has a higher change of generating higher conversion rates than a poorly and difficult to use website. In addition to design, ensure that the website contains interesting and educative information. The content needs to answer all the questions users might have regarding your product and thus are likely to stay longer on the site. The more they stay, the more likely you are to convert them into sales.

Catchy Landing Page

In addition to having a good website design, you also need to create a catchy sales or landing page. There are many tools available nowadays that can allow you to design sales pages without having to hire an expensive graphic or web designer. These tools aid in the design of attractive sales and landing pages that include relevant graphics, sales icons, multimedia and well formatted texts. With the use of these tools, an average website owner orblogger can easily design sales pages that increase the website’s conversion rates.

Providing Incentives to Customers

If you are running a campaign then you might as well consider providing incentives to customers. This is one of the best kept secrets of increasing website conversions and increasing sales. By offering gifts or rewards, customers will flock to your website in huge numbers and in the process increase both your traffic and conversion rates. Keep in mind that the incentives do not have to be expensive. Simple items such as ebooks and coupons can do the trick. For instance, if you selling a product that costs $100 you could consider offering another product that goes for $10 or $20 as a bonus.

One of the most important aspects in marketing is clearly identifying the target market. Think of the people who will use the service or product you are selling. The more you have a better understanding of the target market, the higher are your chances of improving your website conversion rates. Understanding the target market is important since it allows you to create relevant sales campaigns and provide incentives that are of value to them. Lastly, make sure to include your contact details on your website or sales page. This includes email addresses, phone number and even links to social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Another way to increase website conversion rates is by having a clear return policy. Most users are impressed with sites with good return policy and they are more likely to buy if you have one. Remember that a good return policy gives users plenty of time to return the product. 28 days is enough but 28 days from the date it was delivered is better.

Hi Crystal, great post, very very important not to have a carpet of baners all over the page, it makes people run away… Good luck!

There are so many things to think about when it comes to conversion and I don’t think this article covers them all. It’s all about trial and error and requesting feedback from costumers.

Attractive web design plays important role in website conversion rates because if design is not good then the customer immediately leave that webpage and because of that conversation rates go down. Putting catchy discount offers on the landing pages is also very good idea to increase conversion rates for business’s website.

Hi Crystal,
you have good points of how to consider website conversion rates where basically all about staying relevant to your consumer market. The conversion thing seems a bit harder to quantify but I’m going to guess that clicking for more information could be considered a conversion as well. It is important in order to increase the conversion rates having links that are descriptive and what the visitor would want to continue reading. Besides, images on the website pages also help, since so many people are visual and a website can get very cold feeling.
