Import your Facebook friends into Google+

Facebook must be scared since they shut down a Google Chrome plugin that would allow you to export your Facebook friends and import them into Google+.

Luckily, there are other ways of doing it – and here’s one method: Use Yahoo contacts to export your Facebook friends, then export Yahoo contacts into a CSV file which you import into Gmail contacts and then you’ll be able to “find and invite” those contacts via Google+ circles. It sounds more complicated than it really is, so just watch the video below to see how it works.

And don’t forget to get your own free (and almost instant) Google+ invite!

  1. But the problem is, even when we can import out friends to Google+, it makes no difference if they don’t want to use Google+ (which is what happens to most of us).. life’s friends are okay with Facebook and I only have my “blogging friends” on Google+ 🙂 which is fine

  2. Yeah, you would be right even if Facebook is the second most view site in the world. Google still owns the internet and has more users than Facebook’s dream.

  3. Hello Michael ,

what you said is quite true, but its just takes time before they can get it into there system. Most of my friends don’t want to use google+ because its quite new to them. But if you teach them how to use it and let them see the beauty of google+ , surely many of your friends start using the system.

  4. Facebook is long in the market and it is not easy to bring them down. Not even from Google. However, Google is working very hard to get everyone into their circles. I already have some friends who had already started using Google+ seriously

  7. This is a great idea of importing! I think soon Google+ will be the 2nd Facebook, or even surpasses Facebook, if more great features are implemented.

  9. Aggressive move by google making a tool to transport facebook friends. I am not surprise that facebook has shut down google’s plugin. This would definitely quicken the transfer of members. Facebook has no way to stop this except by being more innovative and creative.

  12. i don’t really think that google+ is scaring Facebook.
After reading the reviews and how many people say they don’t plan on ever logging back on, i think Facebook can rest assured that their users won’t be defecting!
