How Exhibiting Can Boost Your Blog

Visitor stats, comments, hits – we all check our blog numbers and are frequently left disappointed.  How do these other blogs do it?  What’s their secret to getting all their followers?

There are, of course, the standard ways of getting your blog known – social media, email blasts, websites, online advertising, etc.  Have you ever considered, though, how exhibiting at a trade show will boost your blog even further?

Face-to-Face Publicity – How many times have you seen an email advertising something and immediately deleted it?  Realistically, how many times do you click on the advertising links found on blog and social media sites?  Granted, these methods all have their time, place, and purpose; but they oftentimes fall short of the effectiveness of a strong face-to-face push.  At a trade show exhibit, you have the ability to personally persuade your attendees.  It is not as easy to delete or ignore someone talking directly with you.  The personal interaction inherent to exhibiting is the perfect avenue to attract potential clients to your blog who may otherwise have looked the other way.

Interactive Blog – Make your blog fun!  Invite guests to comment on one of your blogs in exchange for some kind of giveaway, advice, newsletter, etc.  Offer a contest for submitting blog topics and have the winner announced and receive a feature on their company (or something along those lines). The key here is to have some kind of enticement to your blog that makes the trade show attendees feel like they should be involved with your site.  They need incentive either out of their own curiosity or out of some kind of personal benefit to them.  Bribery is acceptable in these cases – you just want to get them there the first time so they can discover for themselves the value of your blog.

Reminders – Another unique opportunity that exhibiting offers is the chance to give your attendees a practical reminder to visit your blog.  We all frequently read an interesting article and think to ourselves we should come back to this site again.  However, as the days go by and our browsers leave that site, we forget about it – unless, of course, you gave them your email address and are hounded every day by spam from them!  You can avoid having your blog forgotten by giving away a promotional item that a person would realistically use regularly near their computer such a storage device, mouse pad, screen cleaner, etc.  Having your blog name clearly visible near their computer will help to remind them to read your blog regularly until you become a daily visit for them.

Obviously, there are many methods to lure people to your blog, and exhibiting is certainly not the only way.  However, if you find yourself wanting some new and creative ideas to boost your blog, strongly consider contacting an exhibiting company for help and advice on how to win over your future fans at your next local trade show!
