But, the current contract between the two corporate giants, if not blocked by the Justice Department, has big implications for search engine optimization companies and everyone with a website. Here are a few of them.
A Meta Tag is a line of HTML coding containing metadata about the webpage it is sited on. The Meta tag information does not change the appearance of the page and will never be seen by the people visiting the webpage. The only way your Meta tags will be seen is if the audience wish to notice your find language.
Former telecom monopoly in Denmark, TDC, says in its latest press release that phishing e-mails are increasing.
A phishing-mail is an e-mail with the sole purpose of trying to fish personal information from you, like username and password to an e-mail account, bank account, etc. It might also cut straight to the point and try to lure your credit card details by convincing you to enter them on a site, or something “bad” might happen to your e-mail account or stuff like that.
The spamfilter at TDC catches between 300 and 500 million e-mails every month, but it also catches phishing-mails. It’s said that 1 out of 300 e-mails sent on the Internet is a phishing mail. Studies show that users are more inclined to react (get caught) on a phishing-mail rather than ordinary spam. That explains why we are seeing more and more phishing e-mails.

I found this “Get a 1,000,000 visitors in a month”-program over at the Not John Chow blog. It’s free, so don’t worry – I’m not selling you anything, but for the sake of the experiment, please read on 🙂
Let me explain what it is. You visit the site, fwebtraffic, just read through the description real quick so you know what it’s about. Now at the bottom of the page you will find 6 website links. You have to click those, each of them will generate you a code that you have to enter at the fwebtraffic website. By entering all 6 codes correctly, they can verify that you have actually gone to those sites and stayed there for at least 15 seconds.
Now you sign up at the fwebtraffic site, by entering your website address and a “text advert” to be shown in the list of 6 links. I suggest you use a secondary e-mail address, just in case…
According to Vodafone Malta and the “iPhone 3G/3GS in Malta”-Facebook group, Vodafone Malta now has the 16GB iPhone 3GS available and in stock. You may have to go to Dickens in Sliema to get one though, I’m not sure yet.
The list price is €599 but they also write “Special offer price: €75” – not sure exactly what that includes, could be for business plans only. I do believe, however, that the €599 price is without contract – but probably still simlocked, expect prices to be as high as €200 to have it unlocked (for the 3G at least, probably the same with the 3GS).
Personal price plans ranges from €40 a month to €100 a month – for 24 months (!!!) – including minutes, text and data.

iPhone 3GS was just launched in Denmark today. Two (Telia and Telenor) of the three operators selling it had some of their stores open from midnight, with DJ and lounge atmosphere. Not as many customers as last years iPhone 3G launch though. Around 400 people were in line for the midnight launch of iPhone 3G at Telia last year while they had 110 people this year and Telenor with respectively 60 and 40 people in line at their two open stores.

By now you may have heard several times from search engine experts, that “meta tags” are not as important any longer as they used to be. While that’s especially true for “meta keywords”, as they were simply being abused too much, meta description is still important to maintain in your website pages. Let me explain why…
If meta description is not available on your page, Google and other search engines will use some text from that particular page and display those few lines under your page title in the search result. That may not be too bad in most cases, but you don’t really have a saying when deciding which lines should be shown there, and in worse case, it will show some text completely irrelevant to the content of your page.
